'If you have a garden and a paintbrush, you have everything that you need' - Adapted from Marcus Tullius Cicero (100 BC)
Cicero actually said 'a garden and a library' so like me, he would have been a big fan of the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens. Like Monet, Sorolla and many other plein air painters before me, I wanted to explore landscape painting in a garden setting, so I have committed to paint at the Huntington every week for a year. I'm looking forward to experiencing the life of such a special place and seeing my palette change as the seasons transform the gardens. At the end of the year I plan to have a show and publish a book of all 52 tiny paintings. Get involved in my Huntington Project by signing up for my monthly newsletter or following me on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook to see each new painting posted every week. If there's a spot at the Huntington Gardens you think I should paint, please email me! If you see me painting in the gardens then do please stop by and say hello.
Each miniature painting is around 2 x 3 inches (54mm x 75mm). The originals sell out fast so I also offer limited edition Giclée prints on heavy archival watercolour paper.
